Ladies and Gents! I just finished my new acoustic record entitled “Know Where I’m From”, made up of acoustic versions of songs that I previously released. I wanted to do new takes on the old classics that you guys always ask me to play! So this album is made up of songs that my fans chose! But there’s a bonus, almost every song has a new element in addition to my acoustic guitar and vocal. We experimented with mandolin, piano, organ, I even played the violin!! Here’s the interesting part.. Over the past few years, I have had the honor of hearing your stories about how much these songs mean to you. I have been touched by you all letting me in on your lives and where my songs fit in. You guys have given me such an amazing gift by being fans of my music and by letting me hear your stories that I wanted to do something special for you and bring all of these stories together…

SO HERE’S THE DEAL:
I’m making a limited edition version of this record. Only 100 copies will be available. I will also be selling the regular record at shows and on my site as well. However, the limited edition will include a digital download of the record with three digital bonus tracks, a signed hard copy of the record, and a special story book that I am putting together myself!

HERE’S HOW YOU CAN TAKE PART:

2. Email contact@tobylightman.com with your story about one of the songs on the album (in 50 words or less).

3. We will collect all the stories and create a special book with all your stories in it!
You can write anything you want about any of the songs on the album from how you found it, to what it means to you, anything! The book will also include the story of what I wrote the song about, lyrics and pictures from the recording process.

I am so excited to say that David has asked me to accompany him during his performance of “Works for Me” on Fox and Friends early tomorrow morning. This is a track that we co-wrote with Daniel Bedingfield and was the bonus track on David’s Record! So tune in and watch. I’m not sure if this is a national broadcast, but in New York it’s on FOX, Channel 5 and we will perform at around 8:00am!!

We just finished posting the details for Toby’s first few shows in June. Toby will be hitting the road with the amazingly talented Aslyn! You can find the most recently confirmed shows to the right, with more to come in the southeast.

T Killa’s Workshop Songs Collection Vol.3: Summer of Love

It is getting close to the summer time and i thought that i would warm everyone up with some fun summery songs! So i wrote a bunch of tunes for different placements that gave me the feeling of eating a delicious ice cream cone in the hot sun … don’t ask me why. I know this is a more “eclectic” collection, but I wanted you guys to hear them, I hope you like! I know I did when I wrote them.

I hate saying this….. but i think i am going to have to postpone the shows at New Hope and Newtown! Snow Stinks on days like these! I might write a song about it… called “Snow Stinks”… but don’t fret, we will be rescheduling these shows over the next few weeks and they will be posted as soon as they are confirmed. Sorry about the snow, nothing pains me more than having to reschedule shows, but as they say, you can’t control the weather!!! So make some snowmen for me and i’ll see you when we reschedule!!

As some of you know, (from T Killa’s Workshop) Toby wrote a theme song for a new TV show called Live For The Moment. CBS will air the pilot on January 28th with Toby’s song “Live for the Moment” as the theme! Check your local listings for times. It’s been long overdue and tons of people have been asking when it will happen so we’re happy to announce that Toby will be hitting the west coast in January with her southern tour mate, Aslyn.
