So while everyone is getting ready to feast on a large amount of tryptophan and pass out in their pudding, I have been in serious winter holiday mode! I know it’s way too soon, but that’s the music industry for ya.. I’ve been talking about snow angels since August.
As most of you know, I wrote a song called SNOW DAY last year. SNOW DAY can now be heard in the new Kmart Holiday commercial that has just started airing on most major networks!! Very exciting news! The song is also posted on ITUNES as a single. Please go post a review on it and play it at all of your eggnogging, mistletoeing, present opening, karaoke singing, by the fire warming, snow angel making, staying home from work because you want to live out the dream of my song SNOW DAY listening holiday parties!!!

Toby Lightman here. I found this great new band named GIRL NAMED TOBY. I think you all will love them! Cool, quirky, pop. Their debut EP entitled WE ARE features the song “HOLDING A HEART” which will air on “One Tree Hill” on the WB NETWORK this Tuesday, Oct 19 8EST.

Toby on Cayamo and The Rock Boat 2011
Some of you are familiar with The Rock Boat and Cayamo, but for those of you who are not, they are basically cruises filled with live music all day and night! The Rock Boat is what it sounds, more rock oriented with bands such as Sister Hazel, Gaelic Storm and Will Hoge, while Cayamo brings on such amazing singer/songwriters as Patti Griffin, John Prine, Indigo Girls and Steve Earle. Ladies and Gents! I just finished my new acoustic record entitled “Know Where I’m From”, made up of acoustic versions of songs that I previously released. I wanted to do new takes on the old classics that you guys always ask me to play! So this album is made up of songs that my fans chose! But there’s a bonus, almost every song has a new element in addition to my acoustic guitar and vocal. We experimented with mandolin, piano, organ, I even played the violin!! Here’s the interesting part.. Over the past few years, I have had the honor of hearing your stories about how much these songs mean to you. I have been touched by you all letting me in on your lives and where my songs fit in. You guys have given me such an amazing gift by being fans of my music and by letting me hear your stories that I wanted to do something special for you and bring all of these stories together…
SO HERE’S THE DEAL:
I’m making a limited edition version of this record. Only 100 copies will be available. I will also be selling the regular record at shows and on my site as well. However, the limited edition will include a digital download of the record with three digital bonus tracks, a signed hard copy of the record, and a special story book that I am putting together myself!

3. We will collect all the stories and create a special book with all your stories in it!
You can write anything you want about any of the songs on the album from how you found it, to what it means to you, anything! The book will also include the story of what I wrote the song about, lyrics and pictures from the recording process.

I am so excited to say that David has asked me to accompany him during his performance of “Works for Me” on Fox and Friends early tomorrow morning. This is a track that we co-wrote with Daniel Bedingfield and was the bonus track on David’s Record! So tune in and watch. I’m not sure if this is a national broadcast, but in New York it’s on FOX, Channel 5 and we will perform at around 8:00am!!
We just finished posting the details for Toby’s first few shows in June. Toby will be hitting the road with the amazingly talented Aslyn! You can find the most recently confirmed shows to the right, with more to come in the southeast.
