I know that I’ve been a little MIA as of late, but it’s all for the greater good… a new record and so much more!! I’m 4 songs deep and can’t wait to have the finished product. We actually have 12 songs, but only 4 are COMPLETELY done.. So while we shop around for a home for this bad boy, I figured I’d tide you over with a new collection.
T Killa’s Workshop Songs Collection Vol. 5: Hays for Days.. For those of you who don’t know about my workshop, I’ve been posting little EP’s of material that I have written over the years for various things.. pitches for tv and movie placements, commercials, other artists, for myself… I am excited about this new collection because they are songs that I have written with a dear friend of mine, Art Hays.. We have written, I don’t know how many songs, together for a couple of years now, but our team has sadly split due to his deciding to move out of this god for saken city to Austin, TX.. Who can blame him, sun, food, music.. not bad. New York misses you Art! So here are the best picks out of our catalogue. Take a listen or put them permanently in your itunes, but keep in mind, the collection will only be available for a limited time only, so get it quick!
Toby is proud to announce that her unreleased song “Strength of a Woman” is now being featured in Diane Von Furstenberg’s “Proud to be Woman Vol. 3″ charity compilation. This album was put together in honor of International Women’s Day to benefit Vital Voices (www.vitalvoices.org), an amazing organization that identifies, invests in and brings visibility to “extraordinary women around the world by unleashing their leadership potential to transform lives and accelerate peace and prosperity in their communities”.
The album includes songs by Toby, Ingrid Michaelson, A Fine Frenzy, Lissie and more. Check it out here.
NBC’s hit show SMASH
A good friend of mine, Andy Zulla, has been asked to be the music producer on the new TV show SMASH! YAY ANDY!! He has been swept up in quite the process and has been dragging me with him along the way. I have been singing the background vocals on mostly all of the female songs on the show. So if you find yourself watching this guilty “Broadway” pleasure, you may hear lil ole me supporting Kat McPhee when she’s singing all sorts of cover songs. Listen close cause i’m there… lots of me:)
2 INTERNATIONAL ARTIST CUTS
In the process of writing for this record, which has been a two year process, I have started writing with some amazing people. But I wanted to tell you particularly about my little international writing team we like to call WOZZ (I honestly can’t remember why it’s that name but it is…) It’s my good buddy Wes Hutchinson, the great Brit Peter Wright, suave Frenchman Yacine Azeggagh and myself. The way it works is Wes comes to my place in NYC, we skype with Peter who’s in London, and work with productions from Yacine in Paris. After the song is written, Yacine and I work on the demo track and then it’s pitched by Yacine and Peter to international artists. It’s one of the cooler things that I’ve done and it’s proven to be quite a productive little project. So far we have gotten two international artists to cut two songs!!! Our song “Chains” is the 2nd single recorded by Lebanese artist Lara Scandar and our song “Coming Back Tomorrow” is the 1st single recorded by Austrian band Mary Broadcast Band. Take a listen, it’s pretty awesome:

Come down to a special show where I’ll be playing a lot of songs from my new record. I’ve been purposely not playing a lot of shows to focus on the record, but I love philly and am chomping at the bit to play live. So come down, seats are limited, so get tickets now!
Shouldn’t we say I love you everyday?! Why is it just on one day out of the year that we are told, Be romantic TODAY. Be loving TODAY. Well, cupid, Let’s have a talk.. I am rebelling. I wanna say I love you today, not yesterday. Today. So here goes:
You’re all beautiful, amazing, supportive, smart, funny, crafty, creative, genuine, intelligent, wordsmith-like, generous, talented, easy on the eyes, and so so so much more… I love you all as much as I love puppies, soft licorice, laughing til my sides hurt, my family, GOOD pizza, wine, Trading Places, smiling, GOOD and only good music, my guitar, ole faithful (my violin), my favorite jacket, and my friend Lenny (who’s a dog)… So here’s a little ditty for your listening pleasure. I hope it makes you feel as loved as it makes me.

I also wanted to inform you all that I am currently working on a new collection for T Killa’s Workshop (on top of a new record, which is kick ass!! but not done yet..). The new collection will be called Songs Collection Vol. 5: HAYS FOR DAYS. It’s a collection of songs that i wrote and produced with my buddy Art Hays. He’s a talented mofo who actually helped me on Know Where I’m From and various other projects. So you know what that means, I’m taking down PRESS PLAY. The official take down will be a week from today. Wednesday, Feb. 22. George Washington’s birthday. As a salute to him, we will be posting a new collection. My gift to George.
Here’s a direct link to PRESS PLAY so you can all get it before it’s gone FOREVER!!! MWAHAHAHA…
I’m excited to announce that my song “Addicted” is featured in the commercial for the series finale of Desperate Housewives! The spot started running last week and will hopefully run for a few weeks. So if you find yourself watching an ad for the longest running show about beautiful, murderous, drama filled housewives on Wisteria Lane, you might hear me singing.
Also, I just finished the first five songs of the new record! It’s been quite a process filled with new minds (mine), violins (I’m the only player), gospel choirs (I’m the only member), an awesome producer (Curt Schneider), sick musicians (David Levitta, Aaron Sterling, Zach Rae, and Aaron Redfield).. Halfway there!!

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah! and any other holiday i missed!
I hope everyone is having a great holiday season. I am still in the process of making my new record and am psyched for you all to hear it! soon…. not for a bit… In the meantime, I wanted to send a little gift to all of you, fans and friends, that i so dearly love. So, here is a little token of my appreciation! For being great supporters of music. This is a song that i wrote and recorded at home called “Winter’s the Time for Love”. I hope you like it!
The only catch is, there are only 1000 free downloads of it — So get em quick!! It’s super easy. Just click on the link, put in your email and you will get the code to your free download. Once you have it, put it on your ipods and sit around the fire, tree, menorah with friends, family, pets and anyone else you spend the holidays with, and drink a lot of hot cocoa, or eggnog, or Hot Toddies, whichever you prefer. I also reloaded my SNOW DAY Holiday EP for those who weren’t able to get it last year. Hope you all have a great holiday and a very Happy New Year!
I am very excited to announce, although a little late, that my Girl Named Toby song called “Holding a Heart” is being featured in the new movie entitled “What’s Your Number?” starring Ana Faris and a bunch of hot guys. This is the third time this song has been placed, but this is it’s first movie feature!! I might get a cake.. Gotta love One Tree Hill and Vampire Diaries for making it happen before. Well this is another great opportunity to expose this song that i LOVE LOVE LOVE! Tell all your friends, go get some popcorn, sit back and (hopefully) enjoy the movie and clap when you here my song!! Even if it’s a sad part because most likely it will be…
